Up to seven years ago, we were living in a chaotic city, which we decided to leave after our first daughter’s birth. So we chose the beautiful region of Salento as our new home. Here we feel we have improved our quality of life, thanks to a slower rhythm, the unspoilt nature, genuine food and a pleasant climate: a perfect place to raise a family.
Most travellers visit Salento during the summer, especially for the sea and its crystalline waters. However, the region is worth to be explored all year round, for its cultural and historic sites and also because each season has its highlights and attractions. At any time of the year, in almost all towns and cities – which are no less than 97 in the Province of Lecce – a countless number of festivals, celebrations and events take place, often tied to the rural world and to ancient traditions.
Every tradition is usually tied to a typical dish and therefore, every dish has its story to tell. And this is what I would like to do: tell you about Salento through its food.
